Installation

Domestic and commercial electric car charge point installation

VOLT CPI’s electric car charge point installation services are carried out by qualified staff and contractors.

We’re proud to say that both our staff, engineers and contractors are qualified to IET’s (Institute of Engineering and Technology) BS7671 wiring and best practice code.

Our process is simple:

We can offer industry specific testing of existing charge point installs and issue a certificate of compliance to ensure your equipment is working safely and efficiently.

All chargers supplied and installed come with a 1 year guarantee.

Home charging installation

Once we have received an enquiry, we talk the client through applying for grants and checking if they are eligible through the Government. We select the right charger based on your funds, the vehicle and how quickly you want the EV to charge.

Work place charging installation

The same amount of attention and care is carried out throughout the work place installation process. However, before any price can be given for commercial charge point projects, a VOLT CPI engineer will need to assess the area. Price will be depending on power sources, how many charging points are needed and the size of the area that’s to be covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

This depends on the charger and type of EV you have and the power supply feeding the charge point. For a home charger this depends on the maximum supply that is achievable to power the charger, ideally 32 amps to enable 22kW charging capability. Most car manufacturers can tell you this from their own information.

This is totally dependent on the vehicle, the charger and your electric tariff.

Technically you can, it would be entirely at your own risk. For safety and security we would strongly not recommend this is any way. Electricity is obviously dangerous and EV charge points are specifically designed for purpose, to be fitted by qualified installers. You would also not be eligible for any OZEV grants available if you were to fit it yourself.
